ShowCardi-L is a mailing list comprised of Cardigan exhibitors, breeders and enthusiasts.  It is a discussion group for anyone with an interest in showing and breeding Cardigan Welsh Corgis.

ShowCardi-L is not officially connected to or part of the CWCCA, but is one of the more popular forums of many CWCCA Members.

How to Subsribe
Subscribing to ShowCardi-L is easy. All you need is an e-mail address.
Send a message to:
LISTSERV@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM
In the subject line type:   . (a period)
In the body of the message type: SUBSCRIBE SHOWCARDI-L (YourRealName)

How to Post Messages to the List
You will receive a mail back from the server letting you know that you are now a subscriber. Messages will start finding their way to your mailbox. Once on the list, you will then send mail to the address: SHOWCARDI-L@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM to send mail to the group.

It is customary to send a mail to the list introducing yourself and your dogs. Don't be shy. People who read all the mail but never contribute are called "lurkers". Many people lurk for a while until they feel comfortable enough to post a message. The list is full of many fun people who will be glad to have more Cardigan lovers to talk with. Everyone will receive your mail, and they can respond to just you or to the entire list.

Please Use Proper Netiquette
That brings us to what is called proper "netiquette," or the etiquette of the Internet. If someone posts a message to the group to which you would like to answer, it is considered polite to respond to just that person, rather than the entire group (especially if you have a strong personal opinion to express or private message for this person who posted). You can usally find the e-mail address of the person who posted the message at the top of the e-mail file. If you would like to add something to the original question or post that might be interesting to everyone, then you should reply to the entire list.
 
Generally, if you hit the reply button, your mailer will put the return address of the entire group in the address field. Unless you want the whole group to see what your answer is, it is a good idea to erase the group address and type in the address of just the person to whom you are replying. This helps keep the traffic on the list down, as more than 300 people sending mail to each other can quickly fill your mailbox. Especially annoying to folks who have been on mailing lists before are the "me too" mails in which the person is not adding anything of importance or interest to a previous posting, but just agreeing or saying "me too." So, mind your Ps and Qs and have fun chatting to all the Corgi folks.
